Hokkien Mee and Prawn Ramen: A First Meal at The Canteen

A first meal at The Canteen by Enjoy can begin with a simple choice: Hokkien mee or a bowl of Prawn Ramen. Both sit on our Singaporean menu at Kam Leng Hotel, 383 Jalan Besar.
Hokkien mee: noodles with seafood and roast pork
We serve the same Hokkien mee at The Canteen and our Stevens restaurant. If you have enjoyed it at Stevens, it gives you a familiar starting point for a visit to Jalan Besar.
The Canteen menu lists prawns, squid and roast pork in the dish, with small and large options. Ask our team to help you choose a portion alongside the other food you plan to order.
Why we introduced Prawn Ramen
Prawn Ramen began with our prawn seafood stock. We were pleased with the stock and thought it would work well as a soup dish, so we introduced a noodle option built around it.
Although the dish is called Prawn Ramen, our Canteen menu describes rice noodles in a creamy prawn bisque. Choose it when you feel like a soup-based noodle meal.
Build the rest of your meal
You can begin with either noodle dish and explore the menu’s starters, vegetables and sharing dishes around it. Choose what appeals to your table and ask about portions.
